Round-Up and Trees
Question: I brush-hogged a field last summer. Some of the trees in it range from the size of my little finger to about the size of my wrist. My question is: Will Round-Up kill these tree stubble or should I mow it two or three more times so I can get it ready to plant?
Answer: Depending on the tree species, continued mowing will kill some while others will continue spreading from root suckers and make preparing the soil for a food plot more difficult. An herbicide will help kill the tree roots and that will make your job much easier. Good luck with the plot.
