Best Food For Antlers?
Question: What is the single most important food used to promote good antler growth?
*Answer: Deer eat a variety of foods, and it's difficult to select the one that's most important. During summer when antlers are growing bucks need a diet high in protein, so they'll seek forbs like clover and alfalfa and other agricultural plantings like soybeans and cowpeas if available. When deer live in areas without agricultural crops they receive adequate nutrition during summer from native forbs like Queen Anne's Lace, jewelweed, ragweed, and others.
